  • - Identifies and documents all UCLA systems (including shadow systems, databases, sql reports, etc.) that will be directly or indirectly impacted by the implementation of Oracle Cloud Financials.

    - In collaboration with department system owners, develops a strategy, including project plan and timeline, for retrofitting all impacted systems to the new Chart of Accounts structure and/or the Financial Unit Hierarchy

    - Collaborates with integration team and department system owners to perform appropriate connectivity and system integration testing of all impacted systems

Data Conversion Roles

  • Conversion Lead
  • - Responsible for data conversion strategy, including all Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) activities.

    - Develops and manages a progressive ‘mock conversion cycle’ approach to iteratively test conversion programs and source data extracts.

    - Ensure all in-scope master and transactional data has been loaded and checked for accuracy in advance of cutover and go-live.

    - Provides regular progress updates to Technical Lead and Project PMO regarding volume and accuracy of converted data

    - Collaborates with Data Warehouse team to ensure a historical data archival strategy is developed and executed.

  • - Conceptualizes future state data architecture within the UCLA data landscape, including AWS Data Warehouse, QDB, Oracle Cloud data cubes, and misc. source systems.

    - Contributes to data modeling standards and guidelines and ensures Ascend alignment to ITS data governance

  • - In collaboration with the Change Management Lead, assesses the organizational change impacts and readiness

    - Manages the Finance Leader relationship and guides this leadership group through recommendations for department readiness actions

    - Consults on project interactions with the Super User group as they are engaged to participate in Project Activities 

    - Collects feedback on the most significant/risky processes, roles, and duty changes from the current-state which will require targeted change management support

    - Measures and tracks campus implementation readiness and escalate risk areas to project office and governance committees

    - Collaborates with communication and training team members to leverage materials to promote awareness, readiness, and adoption of campus community
