2. Introduction to Oracle Cloud
The Ascend Change Community is made up of key UCLA employees and future end-users who get early exposure to UCLA’s new financial system via live demos by attending monthly webinars, where they also have the chance to ask the project team questions. This webinar recording and associated handout provide a high-level overview of the new system, including a live walkthrough.
All past Change Community webinars and handouts can be accessed via the Change Community webpage on the project website. Other topics include the Chart of Accounts, An Introduction to Ascend, and an Introduction to the General Ledger and Subledgers.
3. Chart of Accounts Building Blocks Videos
The current Full Accounting Unit (FAU) is being replaced with a new Chart of Accounts (CoA) as the common language of UCLA’s financial transactions. On the Chart of Accounts Redesign page, there are three videos explaining important concepts: an introduction to the Chart of Accounts Redesign (2 minutes), Best Practices, Reporting Trees & Hierarchies (5 mins), and Modules, the General Ledger & Reporting (6 mins).
